Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By downloading or using YapTrap (“the app”), you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s standardLicensed Application End User License Agreement. The app is published by Amir Davies (micro-entreprise, France) — contacthello@getyaptrap.com.

2. What YapTrap is (and isn’t)

YapTrap records sound moments while you sleep and shows them to you in the morning, for curiosity and entertainment. It is not a medical device and provides no medical diagnosis. Snoring or sleep-talking information shown by the app must not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have concerns about your sleep, consult a doctor.

3. Recording other people

You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you when recording audio.Only record a bedroom or a person with the knowledge and consent of everyone who may be recorded (partner, roommate, family member). YapTrap must not be used to record anyone without their consent; you bear sole responsibility for any misuse.

4. Subscriptions

YapTrap Pro is available as auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly, or yearly) billed to your Apple Account. The price is shown in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled anytime in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. Prices may vary by region and may change with notice.

5. Your content

Recordings and transcripts created by the app belong to you and stay on your device. If you export or share a clip (e.g., a share card), you are responsible for what you share and for having the consent of anyone whose voice appears in it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to reverse engineer it, use it to harass or surveil others, or use it in any unlawful way.

7. Disclaimer & liability

The app is provided “as is”. Audio detection and transcription are automated and may be incomplete or inaccurate (some events may be missed; transcripts may contain errors). To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under French consumer law.

8. Changes & termination

We may update the app and these Terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. We may discontinue the app or features with reasonable notice.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
